I heard from a friend that Wateen maybe closing down their broadband services. There is no source of this information so wanted it confirmed by forum members or other Wateen broadband users. Is this another sell out thing like LinkDot?
Not that I know of. Broadband has not even reached its infancy in Pakistan and seeing a company shut down its operations is unthinkable. I find it hard to believe or may be it is going to be a buy out by another company may be. I haven't heard anything.
There are not arrangements between them. Wateen is just suggesting to you that if you get Qubee you would get so and so discounts that is all. Qubee is most probably paying wateen for sending out those letters as Wateen is closing operations any way. Wateen has been sending out letters to some customers asking them to switch to Warid broadband too so it is just a case of what is available in your area nothing else I guess.
I would like to add a word of warning, that if you are being offered some special monthly tariff rate, then you should make sure you know how long this special cost is for, as it generally only is for the first month or two after which you will be charged the normal monthly rates.
